Philmont ’24 Payment Structure – Starting immediately, here’s our pay schedule:
- We will only be requesting payment by check or cash to avoid online surcharges. Either of these can be paid to Ben Porter or Brian Epstein until a scout Trek Treasurer is identified. Payments should be made at the beginning of each month.
- 12 monthly payments of $110 per person starting in March 2023 to cover the remainder of the commitment to Philmont. Bring check or cash to your regularly scheduled meeting.
- After 12 months, we’ll collect $100/month for 5 months to cover the anticipated incidentals (rental van, gas, overnight fees and food to/from Philmont, and any other additional fees yet to be discussed, announced, or considered in our planning to date). Any unused funds will be returned or applied to the scout’s/scouter’s account.
- You can choose to pay $660 once every 6 months instead of the monthly $110 payment. Please pay this first amount by the first week of September 2023, and the second by the first week of February 2024. We will send out kind and timely reminders of payments due.
- All fundraising (totaled individually) will reduce payments from the end of the payment schedule. For example, a scout who earns $200 in individual fundraising will not need to pay the last 2 $100 payments.
- Scouts should fundraise or contribute their own earned-money as much as possible.
- If at any time you experience a financial hardship or have trouble with the payment schedule, please contact Ben Porter or Brian Epstein for ways we can adjust or how the Troop can help. We don’t want money to be the barrier to your Scout’s adventure!
